Far from weakening or taking a rest, the Cerdanya athlete has ahead of him several months in which the mantra is a mix of activities and a variety of situations. There’s everything on this summer’s menu, from expeditions to the Himalayas to trail running in the Pyrenees, as well as personal projects and the great trail running classics. “I like a mix of things and this season is looking good because there’s a bit of everything, from the big Everest project to trail races, as well as personal projects and alpine running. I’m just as motivated as ever and keen to see what happens this season,” Jornet said.   Everest, in spring and with the 2016 experience under his belt This...

Font Blanca - Andorra

In his tenth season at the top Kilian Jornet has shown that he’s still as motivated as the boy with the Mohican who used to turn up for races in a minivan. For the past three years in Andorra he’s been at the top of the podium and despite some muscle pain this morning he came second in the vertical race event in Arcalís. Yesterday he finished sixth in the individual race. “Both races were great this weekend. The weather and the snow quality have meant we could enjoy these very beautiful and technical courses through the Andorra mountains which we haven’t been able to enjoy for a while and in spite of everything I’m as motivated as ever,” Jornet said. La Font Blanca staged the opening event of the ski...

Kilian Jornet's comeback in La Fully

It seems that there are always new challenges for Kilian Jornet. It’s less than a month since he returned from the expedition to Everest where he attempted to scale the roof of the world as part of his Summits of My Life project. Although it wasn’t a success, he returned from the Himalayas in good spirits and keen to continue climbing and mountaineering. After only three weeks in Norway and the Alps he has retuned to mountain running. “I’m always itching for competition,” Jornet said, adding: “I haven’t been to La Fully for a long time but it’s an event I’ve always enjoyed. This year I didn’t have high expectations but wanted to test myself.”Jornet last took part in La Fully in 2008 and returned with the...
