Kilian Jornet was the fastest this Friday in the individual event at the Transcavallo, the penultimate event in the mountain skiing World Cup. He demonstrated his good form by completing the circuit, in excellent condition thanks to the recent snowfall, in 01:50.17, faster than second and third placed Anton Plazer and Michele Boscacci. Jornet crossed the line alone, 43 seconds ahead of Plazer, in a race he described as “highly technical” because of its route through the forest. “The race was very technical with downhills in the forest and five uphill stretches,” he said. In the first three ascents Jornet was part of a group of five which included Plazer and Boscacci. But on the fourth ascent he broke away on his own, ensuring victory....

Kilian Jornet finished in first place in the Valtellina Orobie and crossed the finish line alongside Boscacci in a fair play gesture, but organizers gave Jornet the victory after viewing the photo finish. The second individual race of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup was held this morning in Italy.
"It was a very technical race in the upper parts. The last descent, which had to be done with the skis in the backpack, was very icy. Boscacci and I were reaching the finish together. We decided that security had to prevail and therefore that we would cross the finish line together, prioritizing fair play," declared Kilian Jornet.
Perfect weekend for Kilian Jornet in Andorra, with a double victory in the Ski Mountaineering World Cup in Font Blanca. The athlete achieved a victory in the Vertical Race today, after winning the Individual Race yesterday. Jornet has completed the vertical kilometre with a time of 00:26:50, ahead of Rémi Bonnet, second, and Michele Boscacci, third. The weather was kind to skiers in the Vertical Race today, an event in which they had to climb a technical stretch of 730m of altitude difference. "The race was very tough. The legs were suffering from the effort in the Individual race of yesterday. Boscacci set off at a very fast pace and so I stayed close to him and in the second part of the race I gave the best of myself attacking to the full. Seeing that Boscacci...
Kilian Jornet crossed the finish line in first place in the Individual Race, which put a start to the 2016 ski mountaineering World Cup. The race was held in Arcalís (Andorra) and Jornet, crossed the finish line ten seconds ahead of Italian Michele Boscacci, with a final time of 1:23: 48,415. The third place was for Swiss Werner Marti. The start of the race was delayed to 11:15 am due to bad weather conditions, and the route was also modified: participants had to face four ascents from Coma de Arcalis to Portellas. ‘The route was finally modified for safety reasons and also due to bad weather conditions, and so the race has become very physical, without any technical stretches. I started off at a very fast pace from the very beginning and it was a very...
Here is my Carbon footprint of 2015: 5,550 tonnes. From those, 4 were from traveling. In France, where I live, the average consummation is 6,2 tonnes. On industrial countries is 11 tonnes. The average worldwide is 4 tonnes. The individual goal to fight climate change is 2.000 tonnes. (Here you can calculate yours: http://www.carbonfootprint.com/calculator.aspx )I have the chance to be out (almost) every day, to enjoy the beauty of the nature. I’m not this old but I have seen with my eyes year after year how the glaciers retreat.

Jornet managed to repeat last year’s performance and win with a time of 23h28’10’’, setting a new record for the race. “I am very happy for the result, it is very special to run on the same track but counter-clockwise, as well as being able to set up a new record. There has been tough moments but this is what makes this race even more special to me”, said Kilian Jornet Jornet arrived to the race without much race training, but having spent long hours in altitude while climbing mountains around the Alps. Jornet has won the Alaska Mount Marathon in a race record time of 41'48''.
In a 5km-race with 921m of climb, athletes had to start the race in the town of Seward to reach the summit of Mount Marathon.
‘The race went very well. It has been a new experience and I am very satisfied. This race is amazing, not only because it is very technical but also because of the atmosphere surrounding it. The fact that an equal number of runners take part in the three categories: men, women and junior, is what makes this race unusual’ declared Kilian Jornet.

Unlike in previous years, he has decided not to take part in any specific competitive circuit and will race in Europe and in the United States this year. This will be his team’s first approach of the Everest challenge (8,848m), although Jornet explained: ‘We know we have a long way ahead of us. Preparation will be a key factor, but patience will also be needed to discover those great mountains. I think this will be a long-term project that we hope to complete in the coming years.’ So, in this first...
This was the image I copy to my notebook when I was going to school, Pierre Gignoux and the "Boss" Stephane Brosse, the dominators (with the permision of Meraldi, Pedrini, Boscazzi, Murada, Reicheger, Denis Brunod) they was a strong team, a impresive downhill technique and endurance capacities. They make 5 podiums with other partners (Bibollet and Bret) until 2001 when they start racing together and they win. this it was when I put for the 1st time a bib number on my leg. Being a hyperactive children I needed to spend my energy somewhere and I enter to the CTEMC (technification center of ski mountaineering in Catalonia). Before that for me ski mountaineering it was climb up with cross cowntry skis with thin skins and go down with alpine skis (carries on the backpack...

I'm not a photographer. I've never studied photography or attended any image courses, but I have always been interested in design, composition and colour. Drawing is one of my greatest passions, which, somehow, I left in the "I don’t have time" drawer quite a while ago. After completing my A levels in Art two paths opened before me: continuing to study design, drawing, etc., which I felt passionate about and meant I would have to go and live in the city, or pursuing my passion for the mountain, running, skiing, which meant going to college in Font Romeu, in the mountains, to study the equivalent of a PE instructor in France. At this stage, I don’t need to tell you which one I chose.I do not regret having chosen this route at all. Besides the emotions,...

- Vous ne pouvez continuer ici avec des baskets!- Bon jour…- C’est pas possible, les idiots.- Bonne journée a vous aussi.I continue running up, is not the first comment I hear today, and as the arab proverb says “Only speak if what you say is more beautiful than silence” I try to just hear what is more beautiful than silence.Fortunately, I hear much less insults than when I did for my first time a fast Mont Blanc ascent 8 years ago, I have a lot of guides and alpinist friends that liked and/or accept what we do. Yesterday I was on Glacier du Tour, a classical “first altitude day” for people who want to climb Mont Blanc. Guides go a lot there to practices glacier approach, techniques and altitude with their clients before...
